It's been a year

Jo1 started her drawing class a year ago. Here's what she had done so far.
大扫除 & CJ7 Mother's Day

Hungry Ghost Festival

Merdeka Day

Mid-Autumn & Hari Raya

Merry Christmas
y
Easter & 清明节

Teacher commented that her progress a bit slow coz she is the humble type of ppl. Each piece of drawing shouldn't take more than 4 hours (2 lessons), and she is not ready for water color yet. Still need more practice on crayon for the next few months.
Guess what, someone has started his drawing in this month too.... ... it's my "cheeky boy" aka Jo2.

Bento tools giveaway

I packed lunch box for my children to school everyday so that they can eat it during tea break. I was out of idea of what to pack until I came across Maisie Eats Bento that gave me great ideas on what food to pack.

Until now, I still don't have any tools to start bento-ing. Will start my bento when I got the tools so that I can make the food more interesting, and hopefully my son will eat more food I prepared.

Tools above look interesting, right?
Guess what??
To celebrate the 100th Bento of that blog, there will be a random prize drawing on the run until Apr 5 2009 at midnight EST.
So, why Wait? Check out the site now.

Mommy, we need CCTV

Last nite, Jo2 said we need a CCTV in our house... ...

What happened???

.

here's the story...

In the afternoon, I picked Jo2 from his school to see PD b'coz he had rashes (due to allergy)on his face. I applied elomet cream and gave him piriton and is still not working. His PD's moved to a new clinic, and it's juz a few blocks from his school. My appointment was 12:30pm, and I reached there earlier. So, the nurse told me that I can bring Jo2 upstairs to play at the playroom while waiting.

I was in the toilet when Dr.Sim called up his name. He walked into the consultation room by himself. I came out from the toilet, nurse told me that my son is in Dr.Sim's clinic. I opened the door and my boy was chit chatting with the doc. I missed what conversation they had, but Dr.Sim only commented that I am lucky to have 2 HAPPY kids. He asked about Jo1 even though she wasn't there while doc make his checking on Jo2's face & body. Suddenly, Jo2 pointed at the monitor, and he recognised that that was the playroom where he was juz now.

Jo2's All time favourite dino t-shirt and "soi-soi" (innocent) look

I feed him medicine at the clinic b4 I sent him back to school for his afternoon Chinese class. I didn't mentioned anything about the CCTV.

Back to school about 1 pm, he had his milk and nap. Teacher Sara told me that my boy very TALKATIVE in class. Unlike Jo1, very quiet and obedient. But, she assured me that Jo2's

behavior will change as they grow, after all he is a BOY!

On the way home after dinner, I asked Jo2 why he talked to his friends in the classroom, within second he replied me that he actually doing his HOMEWORK as he finished his SCHOOLWORK already. (yes, he is a pro in giving good excuses). I lied to him that I saw it thru the CCTV, and he believed me as the school is equipped with CCTV too.

At home, while I was taking my bath, he came to knock on my door and he said:"M-O-M-M-Y, WE NEED CCTV AT HOME." Why-le? So that Papa2jojo can see it from office whenever jiejie scold me. LoL...

In fact, he started the "WAR" most of the time-lo.

Hair cut

My BIG girl cried at the hair salon, other hair dresser also walked to me and told me that my girl cried-liao......b'coz bad mommy insisted to cut her hair due to the HOT weather. Normally, only go to salon to trim but not really cut. I let her keep her hair long b'coz I like girls with long hair, and is a must during Ballet exam. I promised that only cut for 1 time, and will let it grow later.
I think this hair style make her more "student" look, neat and easier for me to wash. And I am satisfy with it.

菩提心园

We had a city getaway on 15 Mar 2009 morning to Bodhi Heart Sanctuary
Jo1's Sunday school is having their morning session there instead of the usual temple. It's consider an outing for the children too. I decided to follow since I have never been there before and would like to make sure that she is safe. I drove there, but she followed the school bus provided. The route to this place has to pass by a private cemetery, I swear I will not drive there by myself at nite. Once we reached the place, a special smell stint our nose (cow's shit) that we rarely get in the city (that's what I told my kids). I tour around the place and took a few photos of outdoors and indoors.

Dancing for charity

Rehearsal at Dewan Sri Pinang (Jo1 standing 2nd from left)

Theme: "By the children, for the children"
Organized by: Greenapple Ballet Academy & Lions Club of George Town
Date: 29 Feb & 1 March 2009
Venue: Dewan Sri Pinang

My daughter was very excited when the teacher informed her that she will participate in a charity concert for the first time. When I asked her what charity means? She said charity means you buy a ticket as a donations and then later use the ticket to buy food....Ya, she was partly correct, she actually refer to charity food fair.

So, the reason I let her perform was b'coz it's a good stage experience for a good cause even though I know that I need to make transportation arrangement for practices, and self pay for the costumes. Moreover, it's close to the school 1st term exam week!!!

Anyway, being a supportive mom, I went to the concert on both days, and it was a fantastic show esp the finale. On Sat show, I was in the front row but too bad no photography with flash is not allowed coz they hired professional photographer and video taking. So, I ordered a DVD and some photos from the Ballet school, as a memorable for Jo1 to keep.

The proceeds from tickets sales will go to 7 Children's home in Penang-Handicapped Children’s Centre, Ramakrishna Orphanage, St Joseph’s Orphanage, Pertubuhan Thalassaemia Pulau Pinang, The Children’s Protection Society, Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti and Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang. According to the MC, their target was to raise RM50K, the good news is they managed to collect over RM70K. This means that economic downturn doesn't stop Penangites from doing charity...esp to the children in need.

Coconut

It was about bedtime, and I was making milk for my kids. Jo2 ran to me and told me that he wanted to drink coconut water. So, I promised him that I will buy it tomorrow since it's too late and all the shops closed already.

The next day, I bought 2 packets only since most of the time, Jo2 ordered and he don't really like to drink coconut water. To my surprise, both of them manage to finish 1 packet, and ordered again. This round, he said he wanted to drink it from the coconut, that's only consider as drinking coconut water.
So, did they ask for another round.
Answer is : no. I guess too much coconut water make them visit the toilets too regalarly until the wee is pure white!! (that's what they told me)

You are "Beary" special.

I received this right after I stepped into the house from work on Valentine's Day. It's a very simple red color paper plate with a bear holding a heart shape note stating : You are beary special. Very impressive art work done by Jo2.

We went to Miraku Japanese Restaurant for dinner, all of us enjoyed the food very much, and we were lucky to get a table without prior reservation made. Papa2jojo and I don't really celebrate this occasion, so we actually didn't planned to dine out since Jo1 has to go to school until 6:30pm. It's a replacement class for long holidays during CNY.

Back home, I got another surprise....

on top of that, my lovely daughter also said this to me:

"Mommy, I luv u very much. You are the greatest mommy. "

by looking at so many heart shapes on this paper, u can tell how much she loves Me...hahaha. And I bet it's come out from the bottom of her heart.

That's really make a "beary" special mommy in this special occasion.

CNY 2009 @ Penang

After all these years, I finally managed to persuade papa2jojo to take us to Kek Lok Si temple, he can take us to shopping malls and spend time there for few hours but not crowded places like this. We supposed Thaipusam celebrations @ town area has drawn the crowd away, we drove to the top where the Goddess of Mercy is located in less than 15 min.

Our first attempt was to let the kids take photo with their own zodiac. Later, Jo2 saw the ox and he said he MUST take photo with this animal, next he saw the tiger, next he saw the ... ...yup, we ended up took photos with 12 animals in Chinese Zodiac.

Her wish on the ribbon is "弟子 xxx,愿合家平 安, 万事如意."

We headed home @ around 9pm, I would say that we were lucky to escape the traffic jam. Cars queue all the way on the opp lane of while we were driving down.

CNY 2009 @ Taiping

As usual, my CNY is celebrated @ papa2jojo's hometown - Taiping. We had steamboat reunion dinner on the eve of CNY, all food brought all the way from Penang coz Penang wet market offers more variety.

Praying at the Taiping Buddhist temple is our routine on the first day morning of CNY after the greeting Ah Mah (my MIL) with 恭喜发财,新年快乐,身体 健康.
