Update on Jo2's milestone

Jo2 start to mumble and he started to call me "MUM" after he recovered from the high fever. I was really impressed as I don't expect him to start talking so soon b'coz ppl told me that kids that walk first don't learn to talk so soon.

This morning, he started to say "Daddy" instead of "papa" as I teach him. I told him that "Daddy" went to work alredy. But, he walked towards my drawer which I keep all the CD, and he kept pointing to the drawer and say "Daddy" then only I realised that the "Daddy" means "Barney" and not papa2jojo.

My Inner Child Is Surprised

How Is Your Inner Child

Your Inner Child Is Surprised

I did the test just for fun.

To be honest, I like surprise. And I like to give surprise to others too. Esp to my kids, it makes me satisfied when I see their happy faces with the suprises.

Jo2 attacked by Roseola

Poor little Jo2 got fever on last Friday. The highest temperature was 39.6 C which scared me, and I have to rushed him to the hospital. We were advise to stay in hospital for observation which I don't like.

Stay in the ward for 2 days, the fever didn't come down. Blood and urine test shows that it's viral, and not "Denggi" which I suspect. On Sunday, I insist that I want to discharge and take care of Jo2 at home b'coz I hate the poor service there. Yet, the paed is heading to S'pore for meeting while another paed will be on duty.

On Monday only rashes pop out around the face and later spread until the body and legs. Then only I realised that it's Roseola infection and I didn't rushed him to see paed since I have experienced when Jo1 was about this age. Anyway, today is the 3rd day, and the rashes is supposed to be all gone.

For more info on Roseola, visit http://www.medicinenet.com/roseola/article.htm

It's a small world

Met my ex-school mate at the ground floor of my new apartment yesterday. I was invited to her house warming tonite. She lived in 5th floor and mine of is in 26th floor. I was there to meet my contractor, they will start the renovation / hacking job once the TNB guy come and install the electric meter.

Actually I bought this house almost 5 years ago, project obtained the OC last year August. Most buyers rushed to moved in last year except me!!! Even though I don't live there, but I already some of the residents there, including a pathetic blogger from Penang.
What a small world, I wonder...

Happy 4th Birthday, Jo1

Yesterday was Jo1's 4th Birthday. Went to Waka Japanese Restaurant in City Bayview Hotel to celebrate since she likes sushi soo much. She enjoyed the food, but only take a little portion compared to papa & mummy.

At night, Jo1 told me that she is very happy coz it's her birthday and mummy brought her to eat sushi even though don't have cake and blow candles (as we had it earlier already). I am glad that she knows how to "appreciate" at the age of 4. That's mummy's girl........Happy Birthday, my little princess!!!

First come first park

This morning, I spot a nice parking space at the wet market near my office. So, I decided to drive forward a little bit and reverse parking. I put on my signal light, I change my gear to "R" and was about to drive in my car to that space. Suddenly, there was an uncle (about 60's years old, tan skin, cigarette in his mouth) horn his car and straight away he drove in his car to the space I spotted first.

With no second thought, I block my car in front on his, walked to him and tell him that I wanted to park my car here, then walked back to my car. Suddenly, I felt that my hand is cold and body like shivering a bit. Why I have the guts to do so, what if he insist not to remove his car, what if he scold me....

Anyway, I got to park my car and managed to buy some fruits.
For the past 1 week, it's been Jo2's practice "asking" to wear shoes for him right after he had his bath. It's started b'coz we normally bathe him first then only we bring him for "kaiKai" (go out)

So, now almost everyday when I arrived from work I still see him wearing his shoes walking here and there. Accroding to his kakak(maid), Jo2 will only "relief" after wearing his shoes, even just walk around the house.

Poor little fellow, he must be waiting and waiting for papa or mama to bring him out. I guess he wants to get himself ready (by wearing shoes) so that can go out anytime!!!

UPSR results is out today

Called my niece Mic just now, she scored 7A's in her UPSR exam(stand6 gov placement test). Another niece of mine Meg scored 4A's. Both of them did a great job, and I am proud of them (I also got 4A's what, so good enough oredi-la)

About these 2 niece of mine, both of them used to be very good friend, like those "ba le kor" always stick together whenever they go, can even holds hand while walking.

But, now, it's history. Mic is more outgoing person, she involved in school volleyball team, she is even Penang State rep. team. While the other girl, Meg she is more the "girlish" type. She plays Barbie doll with Jo1, she wears dress... ...she watch cartoons... ...

I guess ppl grows up and they found they have different character and different interest. Anyway, hope they will be friends forever just like me and my sister cousin Fong. We grown up together, during our school day she came to stay in my house every school holiday, we had same tuition teacher. Until now, eventhough I am morried and she is still single; we still go shopping on Sundays, eat out together, watch movie and she will come to my place whenever she is free.

Jo1 School Annual Concert 2005

When it comes to the end of the year, every school will have their own concert. Jo1 will participate in her school concert for the first time. She is going to perform dancing "Madagascar" in group and also poem recital - "He's got the whole world".

Here's the poem:
He's got the moutains and the rivers in his hands,
He's got the oceans and the seas in his hands,
He's got you and he's got me in his hands,
He's got the whole world in his hands.

Can't believe that I can memorize it now without looking on the papar, what to do.......kids learn, mummy has to learn too!!!

Happy Birthday, Papa2jojo & Jo1

14 Nov is Papa2jojo B'day. This year, Jo1's chinese B'day fall on the same day too. So, we had 2 cakes last time. Barney brownies' cake for Jo1 and Spanish cheese cake for Papa2jojo.

Bid farewell to BIL#3

At this hour, my BIL#3's flight is going to take off heading to US. He will be posting there for 1 1/2 year, to set up a new branch in New Mexico for his co. which built processor for almost all computers.

I personally think that he shouldn't leave at this time as their baby is going to due in 2 months time. But, he promised to fly back again when the baby is due to induce. According to my sis, he will be back for about a week in January b'coz he wants to be with my sis in the labor room. Then, he will return to US after 3-4 days after the baby is born.
I don't buy this idea at all in the first place. Why should he left a pregnant women alone here, then let her face whatever will come (I know it will be hard for my sis, miss him and sad to be lonely; as she depends on him after marriage coz he is a good planner, he plan everything from head to toes).
BIL will be back with her for a few days after she give birth, then left the mummy and baby again!!! (I think my sis will miss him and get sad again!!!)

I don't dare to call my sis now, as I know she need time to overcome this. B'coz I cannot take it when I see other people is crying........sob sob sob, afterwards I also cry (for no reason) just follow!!!! Heee Heee

New Food for the kids

Yesterday was a bright sunny Sunday. Unfortunately, I am the type of person who is afriad of SUN, so I decided to stay at home instead of going out. I cooked breakfast for the kids.

I wanted to let Jo2 try on eggs for a long time, but afraid that he is allergic to egg. Anyway, yesterday Jo2 had scramble egg for the first time and until today no sign of bad reaction. I really hope that his body can take it as I only cooked 2 egg yolks mix with his milk, and he really loved it. Later, in the afternoon, Jo2 had mashed potato and bun around 4 o'clock.

As for Jo1, I steamed some corn for her, mix with some salt and butter. She had 1/2 a bowl, I had 1 bowl, I think it really taste nice just like the stall selling at the shopping mall except mine one is without the AJINOMOTO!!

Play hard in day time & cry hard at nite

My little Jo2 has been waking up at nite and cried non-stop for the past few days. I very seldom bring him out at nite, b'coz I prefer to let him play and do whatever he likes at home instead mix in the crowd. I guess it was papa2jojo's fault who suggest to bring him out on Saturday.

So, I wanted to give a try again hopefully he will cope with going out more often. Again, we went to swimming and took a walk along Gurney drive to take some pictures. Today, I think my eyes is like a PANDA and look very puffy......Jo2 woke up every minutes, keep crying and crying non-stop!!! I wanted to try the cry-out method, but I just pity to see him cry for too long. So, I got no choice but to put him in "yau-yau"(swing) then only he fell asleep.

I decided to bring him out more often so that Jo2 will adapt to it. Yup, b'coz I don't have to work on Hari Raya!!! I can afford more cries.......ready to FACE it.

Eating Sushi @ Mc D

As usual, we will go shopping on Sunday (just window shopping) @ Gurney Plaza. Jo1 said that she wants Mc'D for dinner, she even mentioned that she likes the "BURGER" there very much. Mummy and daddy got no choice ....

On my way there, mummy is SMART enough to buy some sushi. (Unlike other kids, my Jo1 don't like Mc'D's food; it's rare, I know and save mummy lots of money too).

At Mc'D, after ordered the food, all set to start our dinner, Jo1 said she is full-liao after 1 bite on the burger .....so how??? We got no choice, but to let her eat the sushi that I bought just now.

Jo1 finished 4 sushi in less than 10 minutes (normally it take hours for her to finish her rice @ home) and I also notice that there's onw uncle looking at her, probably it's his first time to see a kid eating sushi @ Mc'D while the papa & mummy eat burger and fries and soft drinks......ha ha ha

Coincident

It's was one sunny Sunday when I decided to bring Jo1 & Jo2 to swim @PSC I was looking after Jo2 while Jo1 swimming in the baby pool. Suddenly I heard someone calling "Joshua, Joshua.....," I turned my head around then realized that someone is calling out his son's name and not my little boy. The boy is about 10 years old.

Later, the same lady called "Jolene, Jolene...," so I turned to her again but she was looking to the other direction. Funny ah I told myself, her little girl aged about 5 years old is actually has the same name as my Jo1 while elder son has the same name as my Jo2. (probably different spelling)

Jo1's real name = Jolene
Jo2's real name = Joshua

Still, I will continue to use Jo1 and Jo2 in this blog for my own typing convenient.

Lost 3 kg in 4 days

Yoohoo!! I have something to shout about. I lost 3 kg since Monday. Actually I just want to share something that I personally tested and really take effect. Here's the recipe:

Day1 Breakfast - Pineapple (hint: drink warm water first)
Lunch - Papaya
Dinner - Pineapple

Day2 Breakfast - Watermelon
Lunch - Watermelon
Dinner - Watermelon

Day3 Breakfast - Prune
Lunch - Strawberry
Dinner - Salad (green vegetables) / bakes potato

Day4 Breakfast - Grape
Lunch - Grape
Dinner - Grape

Note: there's not limit on intake amount. Take as many as you want, no hunger...
I think it's good for health to eat like this once a while to clear our stomach. This is the first time I tried and I think it's not difficult as seen and the greatest thing is I manage to lost 3 kg!!!
To be honest, I followed all these except I had 8-course dinner on the 2nd day, and I changed 2nd day's breastfast to honeydew instead of eating watermelon the whole day!!!

Mak Yee Po cum Kei Poh Ji (Busy body)

Went to Taiping (MIL place) last Sunday. Too bad, no more Sunday family outing since Taiping is a boring place to me, nothing much to explore except "keep" myself inside the house.

In the afternoon, we have a visitor, she is our neighbor (2 blocks from my MIL's house), in her mid 60's who "eat full nothing to do" type of auntie. As usual, she come and chit chat with my MIL, while me as a good DIL just sit a side and hear their conversation while feeding Jo2 porridge. Half an hour later, she walked near me and whispering to me. To my surprise, she told me that -
Auntie: "you have to watch out your maid, she is not doing her job well....bla..bla..bla"
Mama2jojo: "Why?"
Auntie: "I see that your clothes not white enough, it's not clean, your maid didn't wash it properly."
Mama2jojo: "Ahhhhh!!!" (I was stunt and keep silent, no reply, coz don't know what to say)

After she is gone, I asked papa2jojo....
Mama2jojo: "Can u tell me what's the color of my T/shirt?"
Papa2jojo: "It's grey-la"
Mama2jojo: "Guess what, just now that auntie said my t/shirt is not clean.

Actually, it's no big deal if other people say this to me, but not her, coz she is the very action type of people who like to show off, and treat her maid like "slave".

Don't expect me to scold my maid day and night just like her. No way......I think it's not worth it.

More good news

Additional good news:

1. My sis#3 is expecting a baby boy Jan'06. According to the doc, the baby might come out earlier than the EDD base on the growth size. My sis is putting on weight so does the baby, the doc is afraid that my sis will have complication if the baby's size is too big. This is their 1st baby. I think my BIL#3 is happy to have a son for their first baby.

2. My sis#2 is also pregnant. Her EDD is in Apr'06, and she is still in her 1st trimester. She has 2 boys aged 5 and 3. I notice that she has no sign of nausea, so I think this time is a baby girl (base on my 6 sense also my past experience....heeeheee). No doubt, the journey of pregnancy of baby girl is easy as compared to boy. No vomit, no morning sickness, good appetite, no insomnia...etc

3. One more pregnancy news, it's my BIL#2's youngest brother. He married a Japanses girl, and they stayed in US, they have been married for about 3 years, her wife just tested and confirm she is pregnant 2 days ago.

3. Just received call from Jo1's principal that she changed the date and place of her concert to 6 Nov, which means my MIL can come for the concert then, since her trip to China is on 10 Nov. She must be very proud that her grandaughter will have a poem recital and performing dancing.

Life is great with good news and enjoyment...of course with kids too!!

1. My husband's brother is expecting a baby boy (it's his 2nd baby, the first one is a girl)

Food poisoning....whose next??? Part 2

Went to Hospital for Jo2's follow check up. First Q asked by the paed was:

Paed: So, whose the last victim in this food poisoning crisis?
Mama2jojo: Of course "Me" la
Paed: Ha, Ha, Ha, mummy didn't wash habd properly.
Mama2jojo: No-la, it's actually I ate the porridge leftover by Jo2, since he didn't really have the appetite.
Paed: That's why I normally throw away leftover food instead of put in my stomach and even cost me much.
Mama2jojo: I 100% agreed. I got 1 jab on the buttock for this lesson. And the doc's fees cost me higher than the cost of that bowl of porridge. Hyaii!!!!

Actually, I wouldn't take the porridge if papa2jojo is not on vegetarian. Normally, he is the "CLEAN-UP BUS". Ha Ha Ha

Happy Birthday, baby Jo2

Happy Birthday, Son....

We went to the newly opened Metrojaya for shopping last nite together with Jo2 this time coz it was his birthday-ma........Next, we went to buy a slice of blueberry cheesecake from Secret Recipe (for fun only) b'coz mummy think that birthday boy must eat cake on his birthday

Yoohoo!!!He is officially a toddler now and not a "BABY" anymore. Anyway, I still prefer to call him "bebe"; too get used to it, can't get rit of it.

Food poisoning...whose next??? Part 1

3 blog posts in 1 day, I guess I break my record oredi. Wanted to blog the last few days, but no access to the net, what to do????
This is my 3rd post on food poisoning, but egghead is even faster than me to comments " 2 in a row" so I thought it will be fun to guess whose next???? (I mean among my family-la....)

Jo2 got food poisoning

On Saturday(1/10/05) morning Jo2 started to show a sign of food poisoining after the first milk feed in the morning @ 7am. I am kinda worried but can't stop it, since baby don't have strong immune system, and no control on germs passed into his body.

I brought him to see the paed, the paed informed me that he needed to be hospitalised for observation since he is small and some more with fever. I was mad that I waited for almost 1 hour just sitting and waiting in a PRIVATE HOSPITAL's reception hall for the admission procedures. All the staff were very busy, the hospital is packed with ppl, as I checked in to the 5th floor which is supposed to be children's ward, but they have actually allocate some children patients in 3rd, 5th, and 6th floor. Aiyoyo, the hospital is mostly occupied by children. I went home to pack some stuff @ 1pm, and came to hospital around 2:30pm, according to my maid, nothing has been done to Jo2, no nurse, no doc, just lunch for her.......

At 3pm, the paed asked me to bring Jo2 to treatment room, he needs to set line on him to put him on drip.......poor little Jo2, I heard him cried out like hell...Jo2 felt asleep after the cry and struggle!!!

During the stay in hospital, Jo2 well behaved and coorperate compared to other children. Some unwilling to take medicine, some cry a lot for no reason, just throw tantrum, I guess; some being carry in and out, to be away from their room. I am selfish, I think....I only carry Jo2 out of his room when I saw nobody is walking along the corridor coz I don't have him to catch more germs after mixing around with other kids. Not to mention about the playroom, I don't even bother to walk near that place.

Jo2 discharged on Tuesday(3/10/05), but he still has very soft stools, hope he will recover soon.

Jo1 got Food Poisoning

Last Thursdays, bad news came to me when I reached home @ aound 7pm. My maid told me that Jo1 has been vomitting for 4 times since 4:30pm. She must be caught the germs from school today b'cos I heard there's 1 boy got food poisoning, and vomit in school on Wednesday.

After a few attempt to drink milk / water / honey, and she still throw out, I rushed her to nearest clinic. The doc advise not to give her any food, then only she will stop vomit, later only can give her the medicine. I followed what the doc said, Jo1 stop to vomit....poor little girl she has to go to bed with empty stomach. I gave her the medicine on the next day for 1 time only, and she is fully recovered the next day.

Weired dream

I had a weired dream last night. I dreamt of me being very selfish decided to leave my family for other place where I can do whatever I like with no kids, no hubby, and no siblings.

I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was I asked papa2jojo what if my dream come true???
Papa2jojo: Aiyoo, why worry too much, this is not possible....
Me: Ya-lo, ya-lo, why should I do this, I am the person who can live on my own, moreover my 2 lovely kids.....

So, I wonder why I had this weired dream??? Is this a signal??
Actually, probably it's b'cos I always wanted to go travelling, but papa2jojo has a very busy schedule. Normally, our yearly FOC air ticket by the company is wasted, we seldom enjoy the benefit . So, I guess that's a hint.

I don't even have to bother about taking care of him, he was on his own, walking around the house. Wherever ho goes, sure someone will play with him, while I get the chance to chit chat with my friends and be the photographer at the same time.

Gems scam in Bangkok

On 2 June, my family went to Bangkok for a short trip.Upon arrival at the airport, we book a 1-day tour for the next day. After we check-in the Hotel, we decided to take a walk nearby. A few minutes later, we reached World Trade Centre, and a guy approached us told us that we should pay a visit to Lucky Buddha temple today b'coz it's only open once a month. He even find a tuk tuk driver for us. At the temple, we met another guy that claim that he work as a pilot for Thai Airlines (he stays in Phuket). He had conversation with papa2jojo for a while, later he told us that he just bought gems from a wholesale gems store @ a 20% discount off the wholesale price. He gave us the address of the place, we went there, bought some jewelry... ...it's called P. DIANA CUT.

On the next day, as planned we are on a day tour, we visited a few temples. Just for curiousity, we asked our so called private tour guide wonder she heard about "Yindee Lapidary Co. LTD" and she just hint us that don't buy gems that are not under govenment control (Royal).

The next day after we reached Penang, I searched through the Internet for gems scam, and conclude that I am one of the victim of gems scam. Later, papa2jojo took the jewelry set that we bought to our regular goldsmith shop and ask the value of the gems, he told us that the value of the gems worth almost the same of what we paid but the quality of the stones (diamond) and the gems is not "TOP grade."

To all ladies and gentleman out there, the purpose I blog about this is not to show off what / how many jewelry I own, but to give alert to others and don't fall on the same trap as I did.

Merchandise Information:

Play with your child

I have assignment this week from the parenting workshop I attended last Sunday. The home activites for the week is "How to play with your child" and "Promoting your child's self esteem and encouraging cooperation." Parents should play with your child at least 10-15 mins everyday, keep track of the play periods on a record sheets to record the child's response and parent's reaction.

So, few days passed, and I just started yesterday. (Sunday is just 2 days away from today what). I read bedtime story for Jo1, while I gave Jo2 some toys to distract him from disturbing Jo1 and me. Jo1 enjoyed the story... ...I swear I had never read any bed time story for her since birth (this is the first time), I just can't fit in, that's not my style, I guess. Normally, I will let her do colouring or writing (not really writes, probably scratch) on her own or watching TV, it's freedom.

Jo2, hyaiiii.....don't know what to say, he is not attracted to any toy, I bet you, not a single one. At home, I have tons of toys, no kidding, some are new and some are from my niece and nephew (FYI, Jo2 has 10 Cheh cheh and kor kor. He is the 11th grandson to my parents) The only thing he likes to play with is remote control (any type....whether car, gate, tv etc) and mobile phone. But, never cheat him on fake one, only real Nokia handphone of papa and mummy, but not Cheh Cheh's (Jo1) barbie's type.

Ok, back to the PLAY....bare on mind - praise and encourage your child's ideas and creativity; never critisize. And reward is important too!!!

Marriage affair

Anything can happen, I mean to find out that partner having affairs with others is very common nowadays. Don't take me wrongly, papa2jojo is not having an affair with other girls.....it's actually my colleague.

It happened in the begining of this year, we suspect this when she is still pregnant and expecting her 2nd child.....she cried very often, and we suspect it when we saw her puffy eyes and face. We thought that she cried b'coz she is having insomnia and tired due to pregnancy....later, she has phone calls, mobile calls nonstop and we see tears on her eyes while she is on the phone. Her only reply when we asked: "Oh, it's something very personel." My colleague and her husband, both has a very high potential / chance of "tao sait" b'cos both are "lengh chai, lengh nui" (handsome guy and pretty girl) , yet they have very wide circle of friends.

Now, the baby is 2 months +, but the matter is still unsolved coz I still see her "puff puff" during office hours, and the phone is still ringing, and she is still whispering on the phone, and she can show up in the morning and disappear in the afternoon (take EMERGENCY leave what!!!). Great thing of all is that, she doesn't have to take care of her children so she has time for these... ...something extra in a marriage, and something beyond my control (just kei po)

The only thing I hope now is she can be more considerate, not only for her own sake, but also for the kids future.
The Q now is should these ppl given a 2nd chance if found cheating in their relationship???
My answer is: NO.

Remember the three R's:
Respect for self;
Respect for others;
Responsibility for all your actions

Jo2's new milestone

My little Jo2 is 11 months today, which means he will be 1 year old next month (yoo-hoo). I am still undecided whether to throw him a big 1st b'day party or just family party. Whether big or small party, the b'day boy is not going to enjoy eating any food (still no teeth, how to eat-le... ...) But, one thing for sure I promise that I will bring him out more often after he is ONE. So far, Jo2 only been to shopping complex for 2 times since birth coz mummy is afraid that he might caught viruses or germs from the crowd.

Here's the update of milestone reached by Jo2:
  1. Smile @ 1st week
  2. Roll over & lift up head and shoulders @ 4mths
  3. Solid food @ 6mths
  4. Sit and crawl @ 7mths
  5. Play with colourful shapes & block @ 8mths
  6. Walk without support & up staircase @ 10mths
  7. Leg down first instead of head from bed @ 10 1/2 mths
  8. Understand simple words and phrase & Wave bye bye @ 11mths
I will add more as Jo2 explore and learn his new skills.

Parenting Skills Workshop

Recently I like to attend workshop, seminars especially when they are related to chidren. I sign up for a parenting skills workshop (How to discipline your child) which lasts for 3 consecutive Sundays conducted by 3 professional psychiatric and pediatrician. The whole purpose of this workshop is to learn parenting skills and later we have to spread what we have learned, so I guess "blog" is the best way I share with other parents.
Here are the summary of what I learned last week:

1. Spend time - Spending time with kids is the most important thing of all, whether you play or talk with them. In, fact, toy can stimulate the child's brain to think even just a simple Lego

2. Praise & reward - Praise, praise, praise. Try to find something good about your child instead of criticize.

3. Set limits for discipline

4. Behavior

We watch a very short video clip during the session, and we as the parents will have to notice what is happening in the show and what is the right reaction.

When the month of hungry ghost festival comes....

I noticed that things can go wrong when it come to the month of hungry ghost......I am sure it's not b'coz I am too superstitious or anything, but it's the reality that some ppl cannot accept. Whether it's the trend or what, but it's weired, and glad that it's going to end soon.

Fact#1: This morning, bank M informed that co. account is short of fund.....after we checked only realized that the bank A unable to process the fund transfer due to the system down. According to Bank A, they knew it yesterday but didn't inform us. Bank A is unable to do the transmission b'coz of technical error, and they are in the transition of merging with another Bank.

Fact#2: We bank in a cheque which has 5 digits, but the bank's clerk is too smart to input 4 digits, which make it a huge difference. Another heart attack to us due to short of fund, but this time is human error. This happened more than 2 weeks ago but we still cannot use the fund coz Bank M is still investigating, meanwhile we have to put in more fund to cover the shortage and bank charges incurred too. Funny-ah!!!

Fact#3: While writing this blog, my colleagues informed me that a lorry hit of our company car. Poor driver, he has to pay us for being careless.

Fact#4: The haze keep coming instead of rain.

Fact#5: Can someone tell me the # of plane crash in this month??? Due to whether??? Pilot restless??? OR it's hungry ghosts festival???

My trouble maker - Domestic maid

I have an Indo maid who is supposed to help me out taking care of Jo2 when I go to work. I know that it's very common to hear ppl said this and that about their maid. So, I would say hiring a maid is like gambling - base on luck. If you are lucky to hire a good one, then you save a lot. But, if it's the other way round, then they actually cause the employer "tau kac tia" just like me.

My maid is with me for more than 1 year, which mean she came 7 months before Jo2 is born. I swear I never bother to ask her to do this do that, acting like a "tau ke so", she was free to do the household chores whatever she likes and whenever she likes until 1 month after my confinement, after I gave birth to Jo2. Now, only she has an infant to take care of while I am still at home to assist.

So far, I appreciate her help b'coz she is the one I have to rely on to take care of my baby Jo2. She changed a lot recently. It started when she ask me to let her do her prayer.....my first respond - "no", but she still ignore my "no" and pray even though she promised not to....and as usual my react was pretending I don't know.(As long as it's not too obvious, I am not a strict person and it's not my style too)

Recently, more and more things happened in between that I am not going to list it out here until yesterday I really cannot "tahan'liao" and so I ask my agent to came to my house to give her lesson. The comment from my agent is that "this maid is really "tic ki" (stubborn) nothing much can do.....everything you said she sure to come with an excuse...bla bla bla....

Actually, I really mad with her of not informing me that Jo2 felt down / knock his head somewhere or for what reason he got blublack on his forehead which until today I haven't know the truth b'coz she lied to me that nothing happen in the day time. The first time I saw a blueblack was last Tuesday, and the second time was yesterday, which mean it happen 2 times in a week. I really cannot stand that, I think it's time I have to do something.

Little girl is safe

On Monday, I blogged about a SMS that I received asked for O -ve blood donation. I felt relief that the little girl has actually undergo an operation on the same day. According to Star newspaper they actaully have sufficient amouunt of blood the day before, but they know that the message is still keep flying from one handphone to another coz there's no way they can stop it. This actually is a reflection of how helpful people can be when it comes to something that invlove lives. Even though they are looking for some rare blood type.

Papa2jojo is a regular blood donor to the General Hospital in Penang. This recall me a recent scene when he brought Jo1 with him for blood donation. Here's what Jo1 told me when I came home from work:
Jo1: Mummy, mummy, just now papa went to "doctor" (means Hospital), then the nurse ask him to sit on a very comfortable chair, and then put something on papa's hand, then papa pump pump pump his hand. U know, after that I got this bread, just like the one u bought for me. Heee Heee

Jo1 looks very happy holding the bread, and I don't think she understand that papa donate his blood. In return, they gave her the bread instead of the usual vitamins for blood donors as it's out of stock-liao...according to the nurse.

O -ve Blood needed urgently

I received a SMS from a good friend of mine which stated:

Help me SMS as much as u can. God bless u. TQ. Urgent! Child 4 years old Yau Jia Xin need O negative blood at Nam Hwa Yi Hospital, Penang. Pls contact 012-4275813 / 012-4930031.

As far as I am concern, this type of blood is very rare, but I hope by posting this message in my blog will at least help. So, for those who happened to know anybody with "O" -ve blood, please lend a hand.... b'coz O-ve can only take O-ve blood and I have 2 colleagues that has O blood group but it's O+ve. Yet, I myself it's a B+ve type and so does my 2 little one. (Of course-la, they are "Made by mama2jojo" what!!!)

Bedtime Conversation

I don't have the habit of telling bedtime story to my kids b4 they sleep. Instead, Jo1 and me will have a short conversation while lying on the bed. So, here's what what we talked about last nite:

Topic: Singular/plural (with "s" or w/o "s")
Jo1: Mummy..........."lips" got "s" or not?
mama2jojo: Yes, b'cos we got upper lips and lower lips.
Jo1: How about nose?
mama2jojo: No. I have 1 nose.
Jo1: But I have 2. (poiting at her nozzle)
mama2jojo: Ha Ha Ha. It's nose, no "s" b'cos got 1 only.
Jo1: How about hair? Got "s" or not?
mama2jojo No.
Jo1: But I got so many.......u said more than 1 means got "s" what?(look puzzle)
mama2jojo B'cos when it's too many and we cannot count......also no "s"-la............ok, ok sleep already. Good nite

ok, ok, the truth is that mummy actually afraid that she might ask something that I can't answer, so quickly I ended the conversation. I know definately she has more question in her mind, that she will continuing asking me with no ending.

Give way to AMBULANCE, pls... ...

This morning while driving Jo1 to her nursery, I heard there was a siren of ambulance coming behind me. As usual, I am always ready to give way but the car behind me seems like so unwilling to do so. I saw it from my rear mirror, the ambulance was just right behind her car but she stopped at the traffic lights junction and don't even bother to shift her car aside so that the ambulance can overtake. What a pity scene.

  • Don't just sit there and do nothing (move your butt even though the lights is red)
  • Don't be selfish, think of others and people who needed medical treatment urgently (it involves a human life) even though it's not your love one or someone you know.
  • Don't give way to VIP only (b'coz they have policemen in front of them)
  • It will be a shame thing for drivers to receive a summon for not giving way to ambulance. (wonder this should be imply???)

So, I take this opportuniy to teach Jo1 a lesson as well.

Proud of baby Jo2

My baby - Jo2 who just turned into 10 months yesterday started his first 5 steps yesterday. I am very proud of him and so does my mother. Sure my mother will be the proudest "Ah Mah" (grandmother) to show off her grandson that he can walk at the age of 10 months in this coming gathering with my relatives. As far as I know the other 3 aunties' grandchildren who were born at the same month as Jo2 last year still learning to crawl.....so keep up Jo2, mummy can't wait to see the next milestone of you.

Test, Test, Test...

Today is a special day for my 2nd sister, coz her son (my nephew) is sitting for a test. It must be a nightmare for her the nite b4 coz she has been waiting for the day to come since 2 years ago. This test is not a normal test but it's meant for kid who wish to skip their Kindi2 so that they can jump straight away to standard one. Only child who are born within Jan 1 -15 are qualify to apply. So, yes my nephew is 1 of the 133 "lucky baby" in Northern region.

My very first blog... ...finally!!

Thought of writing my first blog a month ago.........and here I am......finally!!! Actually I enjoyed reading blogs than writing blogs but I still want to give it a try so here I am posting my first blog and still learning how to link and more features of blogging.

In brief, I am a working mum to a girl (Jo1) and a boy (Jo2). Jo1 is in nursery school who is turning 4 years old this coming November. Jo1 is a very lovely girl, she is now about 98cm, weight 18kg. She has a round round eyes and "Mickey Mouse" shape of face (according to her "kei ma" ) with long hair just like mummy. So, she is actually a combination of papa2jojo & mama2jojo.

Jo2, is turning 1year old this coming October. He is a "lucky baby" to have mummy breastfeed him until 7months. Jo2 is a cute baby with small eyes and fair skin. He will keep turning and moving and twisting his body when he is awake. So, it will be no surprise to me if he can take his first step earlier than his peer (Thanks to Elken Spirulina)
