Hello 2010

2010 means... ...

Jo1 is turning 9 (standard 3) and Jo2 is turning 6(kindi 2) this year. Jo1 is in the 1st class this year (more tough and lots of homework) actually I prefer her to stay in the 2nd class. In fact, she told me that her classmates are not friendly and more selfish compared to last year. I am a mommy who put priority on attitute coz I don't want my kids to grow up with attitude problem. Good thing is that, Jo1 still befriendwith her old classmates during tea break.

Being in the 1st class, her classroom has a big size air cooler, 2 fans and new table and chair. Other than that, I also noticed that there are grill installed on the classroom, and window has curtain. Now, the canteen is cleaner and look brighter with new mosaics.

2 years ago, when Jo1 first enrolled to this school, I was very unsatisfied with the toilet. Now, I am so happy when I see the new cleaner toilet. And also not forget the newly renovated canteen which look brighter and cleaner now.

Meanwhile, Jo2 has not much changes for this year. He is still in the same kindergarten since nursery1 except he insisted not to take his afternoon nap now. Yup, he said he is a big boy now. This big boy will wake up @ 8am, brush teeth, change into uniform (button by himself w/o mommy's help), choose clothes to bring to school, go to the living room to check whether mommy has prepared "bento" for his tea break @ school, then he will take his vitamins(able to open the cap , play his toy for a while b4 he carry his school bag leaving for school. This year, he will be sitting for 2 exams (mid year & year end). He also has spelling every week since the beginning of this year. In fact, he already get used to these since last year.

Monday - Malay spelling (Ejaan - morning session)
Tuesday - Chinese spelling (听写 - afternoon session)
Wednesday - Dictation (morning session)
Thursday - Malay spelling (Ejaan - afternoon session)

Indeed, I really thank god that I am blessed to have 2 of them as my children... ...
I hope it's a good start for the year 2010, and will lasts forever.

Summary 2

November mark the month to celebrate birthdays - for my father, papa2jojo and Jo1. Sorry no photos to share for the guy's b'day coz we juz had simple dinner with all the family members. As for Jo1, I ordered a lychee cake with "strawberry shortcake" pics for her. I am very satisfied with the cake in terms of the taste and outcome. The food served also very nice since it's one of our favorite Japanese restaurant.

Summary 1

Seriously, I don't know where to start now after a long blogs break. I am in dilemma...
Anyway, I am going to summarize whatever I can recall.

Right after Jo1's 2 semester first exam (end of August 09), we went for a day trip to kedah. This is more like a education trip for her. We passed by padi field on our way heading to The Padi Musuem where both my kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals. They kept counting the numbers of cows they saw. We did stop by Gunung Keriang since it's located nearby, but nothing to shout about there except a few crystal shop at the bottom of the mountain.

Next, we have a new addition to the Ng family. Papa2jojo's eldest brother's R.OM was held on 20 Sept @ Taiping. The ceremony was held in the morning and we had luncheon right after that.

Next, we have Mid-autumn celebration @ PSC. This year, kids' PD also invited us to celebrate this festival in his new clinic, but we didn't turn up coz I prefer to celebrate it with my parents.

October means the month for birthday celebration. Jo2 turned 5 this year. He had his b'day celebrated @ school and @ my parents place.

He picked Mickey Mouse wearing light blue shirt for his cake.

then......he told me he wanted to wear the light blue shirt that we bought from HongKong Disneyland.

On that day, he asked his jiejie to wear blue blouse too!!!

in fact, his school uniform is blue color too!!! Isn't he very good in "Matching" color. Maybe, he wanted a "blue themed" b'day, juz mommy didn't notice about it.

Went to the movie "Up" on Monday nite (24/8/09),



36 hours later....It was Wednesday morning, I changed him and get him ready for school.

While walking out the room, he turned his head and say : "mommy, I love you. Cross my heart.

Dinosaur World -Part 2

Jo2 turned my coffee table into "The Land before time" on the day my eldest sis gave him all these dinosaurs.

He was so amazed with so many Dinosaurs

He grouped them accordingly.

He counted them repeatedly, I heard he said altogether 27 Dinosaurs.

(Yippee, I am sure these new friends will keep him busy and entertained for quite some time)

Dinosaur World -Part 1

Jo2 been sketching this kind of drawing ever since we watch the movie Ice Age3. This is his imagination of Dinosaur World - with big and small sizes, fat and thin, some can fly and some can swim, what's more with very exciting stories.

Jo2 gave his principal a shock this morning when he rushed to her and told her that he is "BLIND."

What happened???


His principal called me around 10am, and told me my my boy really scared her, he told her that he is blind b'coz he forgot to bring his spectacles. He searched thru his bag and very sure he left it at home. When asked whether he can see clearly, he said he can see something, and something cannot see. So, I assume that he was trying to say that he can see but not very clear.

Sorry, my boy. Mommy forgot to put your spectacles in your bag this morning, you have to be so called "blind" for half a day.

He said...

Here are things that he said to make jie jie angry:

1. We are going to Toy r'us, instead of saying toy r'us, he said " yeah, we are going to boy r'us," and this place is meant for boy only, jie jie is a girl so she cannot go.

2. Jie jie is smelly.

He looks odd in this photo. Head is bigger than body.....hahaha

Jo1 is my good helper

Jo1 helped didi to dress up on last Sunday morning. She assured me that she can handle to bathe and change for Jo2. Came out from the bathroom, I heard they were inside the bedroom "chimchim chamcham" whispering to each other while I was washing their milk bottle & water tumbler.

Taadaaa....Surprise! Mommy!

She picked a white dress, pink hairband, and a crystal bracelet for herself while Pooh shirt and white pants for didi, very matching in fact. She even asked didi to wear his Ben10 watch.

四眼仔

I noticed about my Jo2 has poor vision about a year ago. Finally, I took a 1/2 day off to the eye specialist for a eye test since my regular optimist was unable to take an accurate eye test

checking on him. They said he is too young to focus, and he moves a lot and cannot stay still for long.

The result:

Yes, he needs a spectacle to improve his vision. At first, I choose a spec with red color frame for him, but he said he prefer blue color one to match with his clothes. So, we decided to let him pick the color he likes since he has to wear it everyday from now onwards.

Back home, I teach him how to take care of his spec b4 he start to wear it in school.

On the first day @ school, teachers said he wore glasses all the time in the classroom. Back home, he told me that his 2 girlfriends said he looks "cute" wearing glasses. I think he looks very cute like "chicken little."

A week later, I had a good laugh during the mid term parent-teacher meet when Linda (the principal) told me that Jo2 said he must take good care of his spec b'coz mommy said it's very expensive one-leh.

So far, I am relieved that he can take care of his spec. It's still in good condition after a month, and I hope that it will lasts until his next appointment with the eye specialist in Sept.

Hong Kong 5D4N - Day 3 & 4 & 5

21/06/09 Thursday

Plan changed as I woke up and was raining outside. We had Mc.D for our breakfast in the room, and headed to Harbour City Shopping Mall. We shopped for about 2 hours there, and had our lunch in the mall. We walked to Star Ferry Pier and took the ferry to Central. We went to The Peak, enjoyed the view of the city during sunset after we visited Madame Tussuad's (Jo2 don't like this place, he refused to take any photo).

But, papa2jojo took a lot of photos here.

We had our dinner @ Spaghetti 360 degree (no more wonton noodles or burgers, what a relief). Each of us bought a T/shirt from Hard Rock, The Peak as souvenir. We went for another round of the night view b4 we headed downhill by the peak tram.
What a day!

22/06/09 Friday

Shopping Day @ Causeway Bay during day time and Ladies Market @ nite. Had wonton noodles (again) @ 池记，and kids requested to have fastfood for dinner.

23/06/09 Sat

Final call b4 back to Penang. We woke up earlier than @ 8:30 am b'coz papa2jojo said he wanted to go to Wong Tai Sin temple. I had "teng zhai" porridge for breakfast on our way back to hotel. Took a shower, check out and headed to HK Airport.

When the plane was about to depart, I asked my kids to say bye-bye to HK, but they said they like Hong Kong & hotel, they don't want to go home.

5D4N @ Hong Kong - Day 2

14/06/09 Wednesday

Eaton Hotel - Hong Kong Disneyland

Morning call @ 8am, and they informed me that temp. outside is 24°C cloudy. Later, I decided to give it a green lights and woke the kids up @ 9:30am. We walked to Jordan Mass Transit Railway(MTR) station (about 3 mins walk from hotel), and kids enjoyed their first ride on MTR to Disneyland. Both of them so excited when they saw the arrival of "Mickey shuttle" at Sunny Bay Station - where the magical began.

Jo2:"mommy, I cannot open my eyes, too bright."

got our entrance ticket in less than 2 mins (~11:19am). No Q at all.

Probably due to influenza A(H1N1) alert, it wasn't crowded at all. We managed to cover adventure land, Fantasy land, and Tomorrow land by 7pm, no Q at all for all the rides and shows. We even went for 2 times for some of the rides. It wasn't like all the feedback I got where this place very packed. In fact, I rarely see any local ppl.

Right after the High School Musical show@ noon, we headed to a garden @ Fairyland and took photos with some of the Disney characters, Jo2 kept asking me where is Donald? what is Donald doing now? Why he didn't come out to meet us? So, I told him that we took photo with Daisy already, it's the same. His answer: "No, it's not the same. I know they are from the duck family but Daisy is a girl and Donald is a boy." So , I have to admit that he knows Disney better than I do.

I would said The Magical of Golden Mickey was the best show amongst followed by the Summer Fun parade @ 3:30pm. My biggest regret was to go for the space mountain ride, my heart really cannot take it.

We waited until 8pm for the fireworks, browse around the souvenir shop and 3 of us picked something to buy except papa2jojo. But, he still need to pay the bill!! HaHa

5D4N @ Hong Kong - Day 1

My kids spent their 2nd week school holiday in Hong Kong. We changed our initial plan to depart from Monday (8/6/09) to Tuesday (09/06/09) since there is an excursion by their school to Paya Terubong Fire Station & Mc.D on Monday.

9/06/09 Tuesday

Day 1 Pen - KL - HK

Our flight arrived in HK on time. Check-in to Eaton Hotel Hong Kong @ 3pm. Let the kids had their shower, rest and watch TV for a while b4 we start our walk to Tsim Sha Tsui Harbour. Yes, the kids managed to walk along Nathan Road to Victoria Harbour，and we had our dinner at 香港仔鱼蛋粉. We are not very particulars in terms of food, so for dining place we only opt for cleanliness with reasonable price. Lucky us to find this place where kids loved the food and papa2jojo liked their homemade chili paste to go with his bowl of rice with duck meat. We reached Victoria Harbour around 7pm, enjoyed our promenade along harbour b4 sunset till The Avenue of Stars 星光大道. We waliked into New World Centre while waiting for The Symphony of Lights to start幻彩詠香江 @ 8pm. Back to hotel right after the show and ended our first day in Hong kong with supper from Mc.D.

Teacher commented that her progress a bit slow coz she is the humble type of ppl. Each piece of drawing shouldn't take more than 4 hours (2 lessons), and she is not ready for water color yet. Still need more practice on crayon for the next few months.

Guess what, someone has started his drawing in this month too.... ... it's my "cheeky boy" aka Jo2.
